Catch Up Funding

Key Stage 3 and 4 Catch Up Funding

We have created a comprehensive plan for our catch up funding across Key Stage 3 and 4. These are two documents which give an overview of our intentions but as the 2020/21 academic year progresses we will be constantly reviewing these to ensure they are the most appropriate actions at the time.

If you have any questions regarding our catch up funding plan please contact Mr Matt Houghton, Assistant Headteacher, via email using mhoughton@therfield.surrey.sch.uk

Catch Up Funding Overview

16-19 Tuition Fund

We have been allocated £1809 as part of the government's 16-19 tuition fund. This funding is being provided to support small group tuition for 16 to 19 students in English, maths, and other courses where learning has been disrupted. For example, vocational courses where assessment has been deferred because of lockdown. Although the actual tuition does not need to be for GCSE English or maths, the students supported all need to be those who had not achieved grade 5 or above in at least one of those subjects at this level by age 16. All supported students must be on a 16 to 19 study programme.

At Therfield we are doing the following the tuition fund we have been given:

- Providing online resources which will enable students to be assessed frequently and easily during lockdown. These cover a range of subjects and will allow students to have easier to access resources through interactivity (approx. £1000)

- Providing laptops for those who have not got access so that they are able to be part of lessons at all times (approx. £500)

- Providing texts for them to read during the school closure to encourage improvement in literacy levels (approx. £100)

- Exploring online tutoring opportunities (£200)
