‘I have been entering my youth theatre group in the (Leatherhead) festival for years and I always watch Therfield with pride and awe. We were all stunned by the wonderful performances and such a strong cast and inspired directing. The individual acting was so strong; an email cannot really do justice to how much I enjoyed the piece, and how proud I was.'
‘My daughter has enjoyed every day so far at Therfield. She is happy and fulfilled. She is quiet (easily lost in the background) but confident; not a charismatic personality. Yet many opportunities have been put before her at Therfield. She is encouraged in her lessons and rewarded for academic achievements. She is also encouraged in responsibility and leadership through the Student Council and Mole Valley Youth Voice. She has thrived in the small classes. She has made new friends. She quickly found her way around the school and she feels totally safe.'
‘Just a quick email to say how much I enjoy reading your blog. It gives a really good insight into all that's happening within the school and how many excellent opportunities the young people are given.'
‘I thought I’d send a pat on the back for the school by highlighting the Duke of Edinburgh’s award programme. For my son it has been one of the outstanding successes of his life over the last year and a half, giving him great opportunities for development, getting him to do new things and getting him involved in teamwork with other people. I take my hat off and congratulate the school on the focus on DofE and on the quality, enthusiasm and hard work of the teachers involved.'
‘Your Head Boy is a credit to your school and has encouraged me to take a look at Therfield for my 10 year old. What a delight your Head Boy is, I've spoken to him twice at the checkout desk in Sainsbury's Leatherhead and he is so courteous, interested and interesting and full of humour. I wish him much success for his bright future and thank him for being such an inspiring role model for my youngest son.'
‘I wanted to thank you for hosting the anti- bullying evening. I found it really useful and have shared the learning with both fellow parents, my family and our children. The evening was very informative, presented really well and you were very welcoming.'
‘I just wanted to say thank you for inviting me to come and help out with the mock University interviews. It was a genuine pleasure to meet your students, who are passionate and prepared for their futures. I came away inspired. I’m certain they’ll excel at their chosen careers. Articulate, with great interpersonal skills they are a credit to Therfield.'
‘I saw the Therfield Jazz Band at the World Wide Charities Fair at St George’s on Saturday and I was so impressed. The music was amazing, the instrumentalists were very accomplished and the programme was really varied. It was a real inspiration for my 11 year old daughter who learns the trombone. The young people were such great ambassadors for the school.'
‘Thank you so much for inviting us to your business day last Friday. The children really enjoyed it and found it a great experience. It was lovely for me to see how well the Year 7's have settled with you. I thought the behaviour and attitude of all the children there was outstanding.'
‘I would just like to say how impressed I was when I visited Therfield during the open evening. We were greeted at the entrance by two very charming young adults. We were then assigned to a student whoose uniform was festooned with badges for achievement. He welcomed us, taking time to shake our hands and introduce himself to the children. He proceeded to guide us around the school asking and answering our questions with confidence. He clearly enjoys being at Therfield and was an asset to your school. … I felt that children of all needs and abilities are valued at Therfield.'
‘Our son passed out of Sandhurst Military Academy on the 2nd August as a reserve army officer attained in no small part as a result of the superb education and support he received at Therfield. So once again I would like to thank all the staff for the excellent input they provided which has shaped his future.'
‘You couldn't not be inspired by the enthusiasm and commitment that we saw today from the staff at Therfield.’
‘You make a difference to every child that you touch and personally from our family thank you!’
‘Our daughter has completed both bronze and silver D of E and has two elements to achieve her Gold; thank you. You are the only school that includes everybody, nobody gets turned away. I agree that D of E makes a person, having completed and taught this I have many excellent memories and know that you have been instrumental in making memories for our daughter.’
‘The wide range of activities you offer is great; both of our children have enjoyed climbing club, again something that is not offered to many children.’
'Just a quick note to say thank you to 2 of your Year 10 boys who helped my Year 7 son after school today. He had a flat tyre, so flat that the inner tube and tyre came off the wheel rim and entangled in the forks. When he tried to sort it out - the 2 Therfield students approached him, offered to help and sorted his bike out. Thank you to these boys - not only for their practical assistance but for the positive impression they have left with my son. Good work!'
