Therfield has been recognised for our outstanding leadership provision which includes formal qualifications, awards and opportunities for our students to develop skills such as communication, organisation and teamwork. Our status has been recognised due to the considerable number of Therfield students engaged in these activities and the degree to which they readily volunteer within their community.
Although this clearly reflects the leadership work done in sport, celebrated through numerous festivals and events with our local Primary Schools throughout the year, it also highlights our Language, Literacy and Numeracy leadership awards; our extensive Duke of Edinburgh Award programme and the number of opportunities within school for students to take on additional responsibilities and develop a sense of self-worth.
Sports Leaders UK recognises Therfield as being ‘a beacon of good practice and a shining example of a centre going the extra mile to support its learners’ … ‘Your commitment to volunteering reflects your innovation, motivation and dedication to the learner.’ Therfield is amongst the first schools in the country to achieve this level of recognition and the only school to date in the whole of the South East Region to be awarded. Leadership continues to go from strength to strength here at Therfield School!
