School News

Dear Parent/Guardian,

After two successful Activity Weeks in 2010 and 2011, I would like to introduce our 2012 selection to you. On Thursday 12th and Friday 13th July 2012 all students will take part in a range of activities that support their academic courses and also in areas that they are passionate about. The activities that students can select range from foreign visits to new one day activities that will be run in the local area or at school.

Educational visits form an important element of Therfield’s ethos allowing students to grow and develop beyond the classroom. The majority of our activities will take place during this block but our very successful Duke of Edinburgh programme and a small selection of visits will still take place during term time. Of course, the numerous visits that take place during the school holidays will continue.

Students have to select an activity for each day and then return the completed booking form to the school’s Student Services desk or by email, no later than Friday 16th December. Further information will follow next year regarding payment for day activities but, if your child has selected a residential trip, a non-refundable deposit is payable now and should be returned via Student Services. Please see the specific booklet below for trip information and the amount payable.

Forms can be returned:

• By hand to the Students Services Desk
• By email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

I hope that your son/daughter has a fantastic time on whichever activities he/shedecides to take part in.

Yours faithfully,

Mr K Batchelor
Assistant Headteacher
