This week the Art department have organised three events for Therfield’s annual Creative Arts inter-house event.

The events and their details are listed below:

 

MONDAY 20TH AND TUESDAY 21ST MARCH 2017

TEAM CHALLENGE

TASK: Mixed media and theme based competition response (working as a team)

Students are given a theme and a brief (picked out from a hat!) to respond to. Students will need to work in teams

Of between two and six people. Students have two lunch times (Monday and Tuesday in the Art Department) to

Produce a piece of work which responds inventively to the theme and the materials given.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? Year 7, 8, 9, 10

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: End of lunch time on Tuesday 21st March - Art Department

PRIZES: House points will be awarded to all students who take part.

              The Art Department team will view and judge the work made from each team.

              Art prizes will be awarded to the ‘best team work’,

              ‘most thoughtful use of material’ and ‘most thoughtful approach to theme’.

 

FRIDAY 24TH MARCH 2017

KS3 ART EXHIBITION

THEME: “Therfield Proud”

What are you proud of? What is your best work to date? Submit it as part of our Therfield Art Exhibition!

We want work which highlights your: favourite subjects, demonstrates examples of the neatest shade and/or tone,

achieves pink think targets from your Art education or promotes neat appearance/great presentation. Pieces which

are submitted to us can be any scale and on any material (digital work accepted). Show us you at your best!!

WHO CAN SUBMIT WORK? Year 7, 8 and 9

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: Wednesday 22nd March - 3.15pm - Art Department

PRIZES: House points will be awarded to all students who take part.

            Two members of Senior Leadership will judge the work on exhibition.

            Art prizes will be awarded to the ‘most skilful’ and ‘most effort’.

            ‘Student favourite’ award goes to Art work with the highest number of tokens

            beside the piece.

ART TUTOR QUIZ

TASK:

Tutor groups collaborate as a class team to complete an Art Quiz during one of their pm registration times between

Monday 20th March and Friday 24th March 2017.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? Year 7, 8, 9, 10

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: Friday 24th March 3.15pm

PRIZES: House points will be awarded to all tutor groups depending upon correct answers given.

            The tutor group with the highest number of correct answers will win the most house 

            points.

            A winning house will be declared when results have been collected and collated.
