Headteacher's Welcome

I am privileged and honoured to be Therfield’s Headteacher. Every day I am impressed by the commitment and enthusiasm of students and staff to ensure that the school really does provide, “The Best for All  - Excellence, Leadership, Opportunity”

In my visits to lessons I've been delighted by the high quality teaching and learning I've observed and am impressed that the students at Therfield are rising to my challenge that they have impeccable manners and are always polite and courteous.

The school has achieved excellent academic results at GCSE and A Level over recent years. This has included GCSE results which continue to exceed national expectations with a value added measure score for student progress of well over 1000 (the national benchmark) as well as AS and A2 results that are in the top 25% of the whole country. As a staff group we are committed to ensuring that every student can achieve their very best in all exams.

At Therfield our goal is to help young people develop the skills, knowledge, qualifications, character, and ambition to become outstanding citizens able to access opportunities and life chances. We want them to become adults of whom you and we are proud; individuals who make positive contributions in the world in which they live and who become true leaders.

Therfield is a family school where themes of respect, tolerance, fair play, good manners, and hard work can be seen in action every single day. I write a blog every few weeks which provides updates on what’s happening at Therfield.

This is in addition to all the news and information you can access on this website.

Of course the best way to really understand what a school is like is to visit it. I strongly encourage you to visit Therfield to see our great school in action. Please call the main office on 01372 818123 or email enquiries@therfield.surrey.sch.uk to arrange your visit.

Best Wishes

James Malley
