Guidelines
We are glad to have the firm support of parents in the requirements of school uniform. It is not only useful as a regulator of behaviour but also of tremendous value in fostering the traditional qualities of community spirit and pride in the school.
The following types of outerwear are acceptable. Plain anoraks, raincoats, overcoats, jackets and school fleece, but not “hoodies” or denim. When students do bring coats to school it is important that they follow the school rules by removing outdoor wear when in the school buildings to avoid having the items confiscated.
We have tried to keep costs down, but if you anticipate problems please write to Mrs Willman, Headteacher, at the school in confidence.
We value the co-operation of parents regarding hairstyles. Extremes of hair fashion are unacceptable in school. This applies to both boys and girls.
We ask that students do not wear jewellery at school. If ears are pierced the Governors permit the wearing of one plain, small stud in each ear. Surrey County Council instructs that these should be removed for all games and physical activities since some distressing accidents have occurred. Therefore, students considering having their ears pierced should do so at the beginning of the summer holiday.
Other jewellery, including nose studs, chains and bracelets, must not be worn in school, but one plain ring is allowed.
Inside the school building you should:
1 Be wearing black school shoes - no 'Ugg' style boots, trainers or plimsolls
2 Be wearing a 'badged' school blazer
3 Have your shirt tucked in fully
4 Have your tie done up smartly
5 Not have any 'sweatshirt' material hoodies in your possession
6 Remove any 'outdoor' wear including coats and scarves
Please expect to be sanctioned for unacceptable uniform, repeat offences will result in non-uniform items being confiscated.
